Erin Molan sparked whispers of a “secret wedding” during an appearance on a high-profile UK morning show. But today the TV presenter revealed why it hasn’t happened yet.

TV presenter Erin Molan inadvertently sparked whispers of a secret wedding following an interview with a UK broadcaster earlier this month.

Molan appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss her role in lobbying the Australian government to establish online trolling laws and at one point she was asked about her fiancé Sean Ogilvy.

“The irony of all of this is you’re actually married to a a police officer, he’s a detective,” said co-host Piers Morgan.

Molan nodded and jokingly said, “He’s a homicide detective too, he’s only used to dealing with dead bodies so he’s not much use.”

A source told Confidential that the couple of nearly five years did not secretly tie the knot and have no immediate plans to walk down the aisle.

They share a two-year-old daughter Eliza.

On Monday, the 2Day FM breakfast host said the reason why she hasn’t married Ogilvy yet is because she got pregnant weeks before they were set to exchange “I dos”.

“No we’re not married, we got engaged and we were totally ready to get married,” Molan said on the Hughesy, Ed and Erin show.

“We had the place [booked], we were literally six weeks away and then hello positive ... I got pregnant.

“There was no way in hell that I was going to get married while pregnant. To be honest, it’s so not a priority now. We’ve got a two and half-year-old and if I were to get married then I’d probably just do it at mum and dad’s out the back.”

Last month it was announced that Australia will introduce world-first cyber safety laws to combat online trolling.

A proposed bill is set to be introduced into federal parliament this year, which would see adults who post “seriously harmful content’’ online (including death threats and revenge porn) fined up to $111,000.

Corporations like Facebook, which owns Instagram, could be fined up to $555,000.

“People in the real world would not walk up to me and say ‘I’m going to rape your two-year-old child’ but an anonymous person on Instagram can send that to me with no consequences. It just doesn’t make sense. These new laws will change that and that’s why they’re so important,” she previously said.
