English one-day cricket captain Eoin Morgan and his Adelaide-born wife Tara have welcomed their first child.
Tara gave birth to Leo Louis Oliver Morgan on March 9 in London, and both mother and son are doing well.
The daughter of State Liberal minister David Ridgway, Tara shared a cute photo of the new addition to the family on social media.
It’s been an extra special week on the home front for Mr Ridgway, who just days after becoming a grandfather for the first time, welcomed a second grandchild, courtesy of his eldest daughter Ashleigh.
She gave birth to her first child with hubby Lochy, a baby girl called Millicent James Allen, on Friday in Adelaide.
“Last week I was doubly blessed as I became a Grandpa twice in around 77 hours,” Mr Ridgway said.
“I am thrilled to report that both mums and bubs are doing well and that (wife) Meredith and I are proud grandparents.”
But it could be some time before he meets his new grandchild Leo with overseas travel restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Eoin and Tara first met almost a decade ago in Adelaide when the Irish-born batsman was on tour with the England cricket team during the 2010 Ashes series.
Now a London-based marketing co-ordinator for fashion house Burberry, Tara was just 17 when she bumped into Eoin, then 24, on Rundle St. The couple eventually started a romance which culminated in their wedding in the UK in November 2018.
The couple exchanged vows at the historic Babington House in Somerset, with some of cricket’s biggest names among the 130 guests.
Former NZ captain Brendon McCullum, a close friend of Eoin’s, was MC, while former English Test captain Alastair Cook, Jason Roy, Steve Finn, Mark Wood and Jos Buttler were also guests.
