Emilee Hembrow opens up about her heartbreaking loss

Influencer Emilee Hembrow has shared online the heartbreak of losing her stillborn child. The model has asked fans to keep her family in their prayers.

Gold Coast influencer Emilee Hembrow is mourning the tragic loss of her stillborn son.

The older sister of fitness entrepreneur Tammy Hembrow shared the devastating news on Instagram and asked fans for prayers.

“In the name of god, the most merciful the most compassionate. Truly to god we belong and truly to him we shall return. God doesn’t give a person a burden which they can’t not handle in this life,” Hembrow, 28, wrote.

“There is really no test harder that a person can face, than a loss of their child. The bond that is created between the mother and her child, through pregnancy forms the strongest of bonds.

God loves those who are patient through hardship.

“This world is short, and we believe our angel Jamal Reign Ada is waiting at the gates of paradise for mum and dad with open arms. Rest In Peace our little angel.”

She added, “Please keep my family and I in your prayer. Rest in peace our beautiful angel.”

Hembrow, who was due to give birth to a baby boy in August, shares two children with her husband, four-year-old Aaliyah Snow and one-year-old Gabriel Storm.

Dr. Chris Sexton, who is an Obstetrician, said stillbirths are relatively uncommon.

“Figures show that roughly 1 in 150 births is a stillbirth, so they’re not that common. In a busy practice, this occurs to a patient roughly once a year,” Dr. Sexton said.

“A miscarriage by definition is normally 10-12 weeks and up to 20 weeks is considered a late miscarriage. After 20 weeks is definitely called a stillbirth.

“Stillbirth means different things to different people, it can get confusing. If someone has a pregnancy loss that’s 20 weeks and one day, that’s called a stillbirth. Whereas most people think of stillbirth as something that happens in that last part of pregnancy.”

He said potential causes for stillbirths range from growth restriction to the unknown.

“A large proportion of stillbirths are caused by the unknown. If you can find a cause, these can include being growth retrsicted, congenital abnormalities in the pregnancy and genetic causes,” Dr. Sexton said.

Friends including fitness influencer Ashy Bines and UK reality TV star Lateysha Grace sent their condolences to Hembrow.

“I am SO sorry. I cannot even begin to imagine. RIP little guy. Sending you so much love,” Bines wrote.

Miscarriages affect an estimated 282 women a day, with one in six pregnancies ending before week 20 according to The Pink Elephants Support Network, a charity that supports women who have suffered loss.
