EDDIE Betts has shared an incredible image of his twin daughter Maggie’s birth in April, showing the moments after the delivery with the Crows superstar looking on via FaceTime.
Betts was in Melbourne with the team, preparing for their round 3 clash with St Kilda, when his wife Anna went into labour ahead of schedule on April 6 in Adelaide.
So the Crows goalsneak watched his daughters’ arrival on his mobile phone in the team hotel lobby.
Today he posted an Instagram photo of the moment, showing Maggie seconds after her arrival, being held by the doctor and still attached by the umbilical cord.
An overjoyed Betts can be seen watching the birth on a mobile phone screen. Soon after, Maggie’s twin Alice was delivered.
“Meeting Maggie for the first time @annascullie,” Betts captioned the image.
Betts described the incredible event back in April, saying there was no time to fly back to Adelaide.
“It was weird as — she rang me this morning and she said ‘I’m going into labour’,” Betts told Channel 7.
“I was at the hotel and I said, ‘What do you want me to do, get on a flight?’, and she said ‘No, the doc said they’re going to be out in half an hour so you’re going to miss it anyway’.
“She gave me permission to play, so frustrating to not be there for the birth of our daughters but I saw it all on FaceTime.”
The Crows’ superstar and wife Anna already have two sons, Billy and Lewis.
