Adelaide Crows AFLW superstar Erin Phillips is taking a punt at a new career, joining Mix 102.3’s breakfast radio show next month.
In her first full-time media role, Phillips, 34, will co-host the top-rating early-morning program alongside Mark Soderstrom from January 20.
“I’m really excited, radio’s something new for me. I’ve dabbled in it before and found it really interesting and enjoyed it,” said the dual premiership captain, who is on the comeback trail from a knee reconstruction.
“It’s always important as athletes to have something else … obviously I’m towards the end of my playing days and this is an area I’d love to work post-footy.”
Phillips will replace regular co-host Jodie Oddy, who is on maternity leave until April.
Soderstrom said the inspirational Phillips would be a perfect addition to the show.
“Erin has a great knack of succeeding at everything she puts her mind to and I have no doubt radio will be the same,” he said. “Erin’s dedication, commitment and work ethic are inspiring and I hope some of it will rub off on me.”
