The teen daughter of fashion designer Collette Dinnigan and TV presenter Richard Wilkins had her friends rally around her to sign a petition campaigning to let her remain at her school when it was proposed she move to a private school in Armidale.

Her parents are big names in fashion and television, but Estella Dinnigan Wilkins might well have a career in politics ahead of her.
The daughter of Collette Dinnigan and Richard Wilkins has proven she is well loved in the small Southern Highlands community she calls home, with friends rallying to the popular Year 9 student’s cause recently when she was facing the prospect of having to change schools.
Sunday Confidential can reveal a bevy of Estella’s school friends rallied to her side, signing a petition last term campaigning for her to remain at the school (which we have chosen not to name) after her mother proposed she move to New England Girls’ School (NEGS) at Armidale.
It is believed the proposed move was due to NEGS being the only school with an equestrian centre where students are able to take their horses.
“If she went to NEGS Collette would not have to worry about getting Estelle out of school to see her horse, which she has to do (currently),” a source told Sunday Confidential.
The petition was taken to Estella’s school principal and seems to have worked as the horse-loving teen, who turns 16 today, remains a boarder at her original school.
The half-sister of Christian Wilkins, who is himself one of the more popular young people doing the rounds in Sydney, reportedly has a loyal support network in the Southern Highlands where she is very involved with show jumping.
Fashion designer Dinnigan and entertainment presenter Wilkins were Australia’s it-couple before they split in 2004, just months before Dinnigan was due to give birth to Estelle.
Sunday Confidential approached Dinnigan and Wilkins for comment.
