Celebrity jeweller hires lawyers to recover missing jewels from reality TV star Tracey Jewel
TRACEY Jewel has failed to return almost $4500 worth of fine jewellery loaned to her by Adelaide’s Cassandra Mamone.
REALITY TV star Tracey Jewel has failed to return almost $4500 worth of fine jewellery loaned to her by Adelaide’s Cassandra Mamone.
The celebrity jeweller has engaged lawyers to recover the two missing pieces — a ring and a pair of earrings — which were among more than $10,000 worth of jewellery loaned to the former Married At First Sight star for her European holiday in July, in exchange for social media endorsement.
After Cassandra threatened legal action, she says Tracey sent back six of the eight pieces and has since ignored legal requests to return the final two items.
Cassandra also claims Tracey posted photos of herself on Instagram last week, wearing one of the missing pieces, her ‘Wisdom’ earrings, valued at $1590.
But Tracey tells Confidential she “wasn’t aware” she had yet to return all the outstanding pieces.
“I sent them back to her. I just mailed it,” Tracey says. “As far as I’m aware, I’m not in possession (of the items). I don’t think I’m in possession of any of the items... this is all news to me. I did everything I could to get it back to her.”
Cassandra, whose designs have been worn by Carrie Bickmore, Power player Robbie Gray’s wife Annabel, Jesinta Franklin and Samantha Armytage, says the situation has made her think twice about loaning her jewellery in the future.
“We are quite trusting and easygoing in what we do and we like to help people out... (but) it has put me off. I doubt we’ll be lending out to people travelling again,” she says.
