THE fiance of Yummy Mummies star Maria DiGeronimo has hit out at Channel 7 for using their daughter to promote the controversial reality TV show which they believed was going to be an “observational documentary”.

Carlos Vannini took to social media after the network’s 7plus Facebook page posted an old video clip of Maria’s song dedicated to their toddler Valentina, ahead of the show’s upcoming second season.

Adelaide couple Carlos and Maria declined to return for the new series.

“Hey Channel 7 can you please stop promoting your stupid f---ing show with my beautiful little girl,” he wrote.

Maria was the biggest star on the first season, which followed the lives of four wealthy mums-to-be.

Carlos tells Confidential he’s unhappy the network has used Valentina, now aged 2, to promote a TV show which was “far from reality”.

“Initially we agreed to the show on the premise that it would be an ‘observational documentary’ which we understood would be us going about our lives with the added extra of a camera to document it. However... that was not the case at all,” he says.

“It was no longer a “documentary” of special events in the beginning of parenthood. In fact, no importance was placed on parenthood and its true meaning and thus it’s not something we would want Valentina to even see.”

Carlos says Maria - who sparked controversy on the show when she questioned whether breastfeeding in public was legal - was not portrayed accurately by producers. Maria says she now wants to focus on being a mother.

“The first series was not truly me as my hormones were all over the place and I feel Channel 7 took advantage,” she says.

“The reward for choosing not to do a second series is Valentina. Our bond is inseparable.”

Yummy Mummies will return later this year.
