All of Adelaide international supermodel Adut Akech’s Christmases have come at once in 2019.
Looking forward to celebrating her 20th birthday on December 25, Adut’s enjoying some downtime with her family at their Mawson Lakes home.
But she’s still making headlines, thanks to her new celebrity fan Ben Stiller.
The American actor and comedian, who interviewed Adut in his role as a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) goodwill ambassador, has given her a shout out on Twitter.
“You probably already know her. @adutakech1 is an absolute force and I got to hear her talk about her story and what it means to be a refugee,” Ben tweeted about Adut, who came here as a child refugee from Africa, adding: “You don’t need to be a supermodel or an actor to help @refugees. Everyone has a role to play.”

Named the world’s No. 1 model at the British Fashion Awards earlier this month, Adut’s currently gracing the cover of The Sunday Times’ Style magazine in a stunning image by Giampaolo Sgura, inset.
On the cover seven issues of Vogue around the world this year, Adut will also be the Australian edition’s January cover girl.
