Adelaide’s Padma Singh wins coveted Mrs Australia World crown at national final in Newcastle
ADELAIDE mother-of-three Padma Singh surprised herself by taking home the coveted Mrs Australia World crown at the national final in Newcastle last weekend.
ADELAIDE’S Padma Singh never imagined she’d become a pageant queen.
But the Adelaide mother-of-three surprised herself by taking home the coveted Mrs Australia World crown at the national final in Newcastle last weekend.
“I’m on top of the world. I’m still digesting it … but I feel really amazing and beautiful,” said Indian-born Mrs Singh, 43, who moved to Australia from the UAE with her family in 2014. “I’ve had so many messages from women all over the world, who are saying they’re happy and inspired by my win.
“And my family are extremely proud of me, especially my daughter Harshi.”
Mrs Singh, a sales administrator, will now compete against women from 40 countries at the international final in China in January.
“I’m very excited but nervous, of course,” Mrs Singh said. “I have to work hard but I really want to bring the crown home.”
