FIVEaa has ended a year of dominance by Mix 102.3, winning the latest Adelaide radio ratings survey.

The AM station is rated number one overall in the local market for the first time since 2012, rising 0.7 to 12.3 share points and edging past previous frontrunner, the FM band’s Mix, which fell 0.4 to 12.1.

Mix 102.3 breakfast hosts Jodie Oddy and Mark Soderstrom fell to 11.1 share points.

891 ABC Adelaide remains in third place overall on 11.1 ahead of Triple M on 10.2.

It’s a significant result for FIVEaa, which was languishing sixth overall as recently as April last year.

The station increased their share of listeners in every timeslot including the crucial breakfast shift, and most dramatically in the evenings where Jeremy Cordeaux’s show picked up 2.5 points to lead the slot on a massive 16.6.

David Penberthy and Will Goodings are just 0.6 share points behind ABC’s top-rating brekkie team of Matthew Abraham and David Bevan, while Mix’s Jodie Oddy and Mark Soderstrom took the biggest hit, falling a full share point which puts them further behind in third place on 11.1.

Mix lost listeners in every timeslot except the weekend.
