“We’re all really looking forward to it, our family is all into tennis. I’m not the best player though, I better stick to guitar and being a musician,” Georgia laughs, adding: “It should be fun, we’re all rooting for Ash Barty, she’s an Aussie so we hope she wins and hopefully she’s playing the day we’re on stage.”

Based in the UK, Germein has opened for some of music’s biggest names including British acts – legendary drummer, singer and songwriter Phil Collins and girl group Little Mix – and will head back to Europe to tour in March.

The Racquets and Strings Festival will showcase 30 SA acts across two stages at Memorial Drive, providing entertainment for tennis fans before and during play at the event, which begins on Sunday.

“It’s a different setting to normal but it looks amazing. So many iconic bands have played there,” Georgia says.

“There’s so much musical talent in SA, it’s great to see them have an opportunity to perform at such a big event.”
