Singer Deni Hines appeared to momentarily lose her cool in a live TikTok today, getting worked up over a question about her mother, former Australian Idol judge Marcia Hines.

Former Dancing With The Stars: All Stars contestant Deni, 51, seemed rattled by a fan asking about Marcia, 68, whom she hasn’t been seen with publicly for the past four years.

She even quoted Will Smith’s infamous Oscars outburst as she chastised the fan for posing the offending question.

“What about my mum? Somebody help me out here before I f**king turn,” Deni said while speaking to fans from her home in Thailand.

“There are things you just don’t ask me as 51-year-old woman.

“Don’t f**king ask me about my mother because you don’t give a f**k, and you don’t know her. She ain’t your mother and you don’t really care.

“Keep my mother’s name out your f**king mouth,” she added, laughing as she admitted to borrowing the phrase from Will Smith.

It comes amid rumours of a feud between Marcia and Deni.

The last time the mother and daughter posted together was during a 2018 trip to Thailand, with Marcia raising further suspicion of tension when Deni appeared as the Unicorn on The Masked Singer in 2019.

Marcia toldThe Daily Telegraph she was not aware Deni was going to feature on the first season of the Channel 10 show, adding that she had no plans to watch her performance because reality TV “is not my thing” — despite appearing as a judge on Australian Idol between 2003 and 2009.

Deni was last in Australia to film Dancing With The Stars: All Stars, in which she placed third.

The Masked Singer was Deni’s return to Australian reality TV after a tumultuous time as a contestant on the 2011 season of Celebrity Apprentice.

Deni copped the dreaded “villain edit” after a number of run-is with fellow contestants, with her former manager, Karen-lee Goody, claiming the portrayal had a detrimental impact on her music career.

Speaking on a panel in 2015, Goody said tour dates were pulled following the show.

“The backlash was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before to the point that I was being personally called and harassed as her manager. It got to the point that the police were contacted,” she claimed.

In the early 90s, Deni worked as a backup vocalist for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Barnes and Peter Blakely before she was approached to become part of the band Rockmelons.

Deni went on to star as Mary Magdalene in the stage show Jesus Christ Superstar.

The singer currently lives in Bangkok with her husband, businessman Daniel Moses, who she married in 2012.

Her mother, Marcia Hines, is set to headline the Adelaide Cabaret Festival later this month, after bringing her new show, The Gospel According to Marcia, to Vivid Sydney.
