JUSTIN Bieber will be pummelled with jokes when he sits for his Comedy Central roast next month. But it won’t be nearly as sticky as this.

JUSTIN Bieber has appeared in a new ad to promote his upcoming roast on Comedy Central.

The 20-year-old, who has a tendency to lose his shirt, has again gone bare-chested in front of the cameras — but this time for good reason.

The pop star squares up to the camera with a mixture of concern and defiance and raises his arms before being pelted with eggs.

The action is slowed down so we all get to savour the enjoyment of egg shells and yokes splattering across the chest and face of the biggest pop star in the world.

The ad is a tongue-in-cheek nod to one of the singer’s more regrettable incidents when he responded to a neighbour’s complaints about his loud parties and reckless driving by egging their house. The singer pleaded no contest to misdemeanour charges of vandalism, was sentenced to five days community service and ordered to pay over US $80,000 in damages.

The Comedy Central Roast is set to air at the end of next month and will be hosted by comedian Kevin Hart. The no holds barred format allows for a string of comedians to take the microphone and hurl humour-laced barbs at the roastee.

But there may be a good reason why Justin Bieber has agreed to the roast with Rolling Stone saying it will “likely be the self-effacing capstone of the singer’s current apology tour.”

After appearing on Ellen last month to announce the roast and admit to a string of mistakes, the singer then released a video on Facebook in which he apologised for acting “arrogant and conceited.”

“Basically how I’ve been acting over the past year, year and a half,” he said.

Despite the pop star trying to make amends for his past indiscretions, there will no doubt be plenty of comedians lining up for the chance to throw a proverbial egg his way.
