Meghan Markle is set to reveal her private battle with mental health issues during her time in the royal family in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Page Six reports that the Duchess of Sussex discusses the breakdown that led to her and Prince Harry quitting the royal family, in their upcoming tell-all.

“What Meghan says is very, very serious and upsetting,” a source told Page Six, of the interview to air in the US on Sunday (Monday in Australia).

Meghan reportedly reveals that life inside the royal family, which she refers to as “The Firm,” was “almost unsurvivable”.

“I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” Meghan, 39, said in the 30-second trailer for her interview with Oprah.

The revelations came as Buckingham Palace is investigating allegations that Meghan bullied staff during her tenure as a working royal.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to be contacted by the palace over the accusations, in which the staff said they were “completely destroyed”.

Meghan denies the allegations and is said to be “saddened by this latest attack on her character”. She is “deeply committed to those who have experienced pain and trauma”, according to the couple’s rep.

The Times reported that the formal complaint was made by Meghan’s former PR chief Jason Knauf in an October 2018 email to palace HR.

Speaking to The Times, one of the alleged victims said: “We will finally be able to tell the truth. It’s not going to be easy, but this is very welcome and long overdue”.

“We don’t have to be silent any more.”

FASHION FIGHT

Meghan is said to have clashed with royal aides after over freebie designer clothes sent to Kensington Palace, The Sunreported.

The Duchess of Sussex had “rows” with staff when told by aides that keeping clothes sent by fashion labels was against royal protocol.

Sources say boxes of designer garments were sent to Kensington Palace for Meghan after she was unveiled as Harry’s girlfriend.

One said: “As an actress it was perfectly acceptable to take freebies sent by fashion chains and designer labels”.

“But Meghan had to be told it was not the done thing when you are a member of the royal family.”

Meghan was regularly pictured wearing luxury labels including Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Prada and Chanel during official royal engagements.

Prince Charles eventually paid for Meghan’s wardrobe bill after she married Harry in May 2018.

Meantime, the former Suits star, who is pregnant with her second child, made it clear just how much she was struggling in a 2019 interview.

When asked if she was OK, Markle — whose son, Archie Harrison, was then only a few months old — thanked the interviewer for his concern. “Not many people have asked if I’m OK,” she said.

NO ‘SOAP OPERA’ FOR WILLS, KATE

Prince William and Kate Middleton are “surrounded by goodness” and don’t want to get involved in the “soap opera” around Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, close family sources told Page Six.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be dreading the uncomfortable attention that is about to hit the royal family when Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey airs in full.

“William and Catherine could not be more discreet, they don’t want to get involved in this public b*tch fest, but I am sure that William is desperately sad about all this,” one royal source told Page Six.

“Even when Harry spoke about the fallout with William, there was no briefing from them. And by saying nothing, that is the smartest move.”
