Thomas Markle is hoping to heal the rift with his daughter Meghan after Princes Harry and William called a truce at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
The Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales put their differences aside to remember the late monarch.
The 78-year-old watched the televised service with his son Thomas Jr and was pleased by the brothers’ show of royal unity in the wake of their grandmother’s death.
Speaking about their father, Thomas Jr – Meghan’s half-brother – told the Sunday Mirror, “We both watched clips of the Queen’s funeral together.
“I was overcome with emotion at how every person spectating was honoured to be there and respectful.”

Addressing the former Suits actress directly, the 65-year-old said, “Dad treated you like a princess your entire life and deserves the respect.
“You didn’t call him for his heart attacks or stroke, but it’s never too late.”
Hoping the Duchess of Sussex will take steps to mend their relationship, he added, “I’d like to send this invitation for her to do the right thing and make amends with her father.
“But she also has to make amends with our sister Samantha and myself.
“Everyone makes mistakes – it’s never too late to do the right thing.”
Meghan had a falling out with her father after he posed for paparazzi pictures ahead of her 2018 wedding.
It caused a rift between the two and Thomas missed the nuptials, claiming he had suffered a heart attack just days before he was due to walk her down the aisle.
During an interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, the Duchess spoke of her father’s “betrayal”.
“When I said we won’t be able to protect our own kids one day and I said, ‘So I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth, we can help,’” she told the talk show host.
“He wasn’t able to do that. And that for me has really resonated, especially now as a mother.
“I look at Archie, I think about this child, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child.”
Thomas has never met his son-in-law Prince Harry or his two grandchildren Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
