RUSSELL Brand’s friends say he is overjoyed at the prospect of being a dad — with the happy news possibly signalling the end of his legendary womanising.

It’s reported the 40-year-old comic’s girlfriend Laura Gallacher, 27, is five months pregnant.

A friend said: “Russell might have bedded many of the world’s most stunning women but now it’s all about Laura and becoming a dad.”

“They have been living as a couple for the last six months and are determined to make a go of their relationship. It feels like a new chapter in their lives and the couple are enjoying every moment, including discussing baby names.

“Russell is absolutely made up. Most of his closest friends have children and he was desperate to start a family. He and Laura are thrilled to bits at the prospect of becoming parents. They have shared the happy news with close family and friends.”

Russell is said to have wanted to start a family for years and hoped to do so with both ex-wife Katy Perry and previous girlfriend Jemima Khan.

The friend said: “It didn’t work out with Katy, who felt she was too young for kids — and there were conversations with Jemima. But Russell is blissfully happy with Laura.”

Laura has had an on-off relationship with Russell for years.

Their first romance ended in 2007. They were spotted together again in 2009 and last year rekindled the relationship when they flew off for a weekend in Rome.

The couple are now said to be planning a nursery at the million dollar riverside home they share.

The comedian declined to comment when contacted by The Sun.
