Rosie O’Donnell and daughter Chelsea are rebuilding their relationship one day at a time.
On Thursday, the pair posed for a sweet selfie on Instagram. “chelsea and me – what a difference a year makes #hopelives,” Rosie wrote as a caption, The New York Post reports.
Rosie, 54, and Chelsea became estranged last summer after the 18-year-old left home in August and was reported missing. Chelsea, who suffers from mental illness and had not been taking her medication, was eventually found with a 25-year-old alleged heroin dealer.
While Chelsea blasted her mother in the press, claiming that the comedian had smoked marijuana in their house and barely interacted with her children, the two reunited in June for Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer charity Cabaret Cruise in New York.
“Chelsea brought a handsome male friend [Nick Alliegro], and they all looked like a happy family,” a spy told The Post at the time.
