Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale welcome first child

AUSTRALIAN star Rose Byrne and her actor partner Bobby Cannavale have welcomed their first child together.

HOLLYWOOD couple Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale are the new parents of a baby boy.

Cannavale broke the news on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday, confirming Byrne had given birth on February 1.

The proud dad was scant on details but revealed the “beautiful” baby’s name was Rocco.

“I had a baby on Monday, yes,” the Vinyl star said.

“You know, I didn’t do anything. We (men) don’t do anything and I’m so tired. I think I’ve gained 28 pounds (12kg) since Monday.

“I mean, I’m not kidding you. Like, this jacket fit so well, like, last Thursday. But I’ve been eating so much.”

Sydney-born Byrne, 36, debuted her growing baby bump at Los Angeles airport back in October, but the notoriously private couple have revealed few details of the pregnancy.

Byrne and Cannavale began dating in 2012 and co-starred in films Adult Beginners, Annie and last year’s Spy.

It’s the first child for Byrne but Cannavale already has a 10-year-old son, Jake, from his marriage to screenwriter Jenny Lumet, which ended in 2003.
