Queen Elizabeth death: Fab Four met for dinner at Buckingham Palace

The Prince and Princess of Wales met Prince Harry and Meghan Markle privately as the royals mourn The Queen.

Fueding brothers Prince William and Prince Harry had dinner together at Buckingham Palace with their wives, Princess Catherine and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

The four royals joined other members of the family as they prepared to follow the Queen’s coffin from the palace to Westminster Hall.

The dinner is the latest sign the two couples have put aside their tensions, at least temporarily, as they mourn the Queen.

The Queen’s grandsons walked behind her coffin side by side and their wives as the procession makes it way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall.

Her Majesty will lie in state at Westminster Hall from Thursday to Sunday before her state funeral on Monday, September 19.

Princess Catherine and Ms Markle have appeared in public together twice since the sudden death of the Queen.

The pair have been on frosty terms since Ms Markle accused Catherine of making her cry in the run-up to her wedding during her bombshell Oprah interview.

King Charles III led the procession on foot from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster, which gets underway mid-afternoon in London (11.30pm AEST).

His three siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, joined him alongside Peter Phillips, Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke of Gloucester and the Earl of Snowdon.

Sophie Wessex and Queen Consort Camilla also traveled by car to Westminster Hall.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined the royal family at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening to receive the Queen’s coffin, on its return from Edinburgh.

The route from RAF Northolt in west London to Buckingham Palace was well promoted and prompted thousands of people to line the curbs to cheer, applause and just witness the spectacle of the cortege weaving through some of central London’s busiest shopping strips and pub quarters to Buckingham Palace.

The new state hearse had been designed by the Royal Household and Jaguar Land Rover with the Queen approving its design plans.

At the palace, the cortege was greeted by the royal family with that moment declared private time.

The palace did reveal standing at the inner grand entrance was the new King Charles and his Queen Consort Camilla, surrounded by the late monarch’s children and grandchildren and their partners, including the Prince and Princess of Wales William and Kate and Duke and Duchess of Sussex Harry and Meghan.

The brothers are set to stand together for the Queen’s funeral on Monday, seemingly putting aside their long-time feud.

An insider told The Sun the pair now “can coexist” as their relationship is “not as intense”.

It comes just days after the Prince and Princess Wales invited Prince Harry and Meghan to join them to look at flowers outside Windsor Castle.
