Prince Philip was laid to rest inside St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle after a sombre service attended by just 30 guests.
In line with his wishes, his coffin was carried on a specially design Land Rover.
The Duke’s children Princess Anne, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward walked behind the coffin during the solemn procession, along with Prince William, Peter Phillips, Prince Harry, Earl of Snowdon David Armstrong-Jones and Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
The Queen cut a lonely figure at Windsor Castle on Saturday as she said her final goodbye to her husband of 73 years. The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in St George’s Chapel was being held in accordance with coronavirus restrictions, meaning only 30 family members and close friends were allowed, and they had to practise social distancing.
Prince William and Prince Harry were separated during the procession by their cousin Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son.
During the service they were seated on either side of the chapel.
Kate Middleton wore a traditional black outfit for the funeral but included a tribute to Princess Diana as she paid her respects.
