Prince Harry has once again blasted his father in public, this time slamming Prince Charles’ parenting skills.
Speaking on the podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Harry said he desperately wanted to “break the cycle” of “genetic pain and suffering” caused by Prince Charles’ parenting technique.
The Duke of Sussex, 36, who is expecting a daughter with wife Meghan, vowed not to “pass on” the pain he had experienced as a child to his own two children.
While Harry said he wasn’t “pointing the finger or blaming anybody” he did allude to a cycle of suffering that needs to be broken.
“But certainly when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically.
“It’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway so we as parents should be doing the most we can to try and say ‘you know what, that happened to me, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you’.”
He also compared growing up in palaces, being waited on hand and foot, and attending the world’s top schools was a cross between being in The Truman Show and “like being an animal at the zoo”.

His comments sparked immediate backlash online, with Piers Morgan leading the charge.
“How many more times is this spoiled brat going to publicly trash the Dad who’s bankrolled him his entire life?” Morgan tweeted.
It comes as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been told to “get on with their lives” by a royal insider – and stop publicly criticising their family.
But in more surprsing comments, Harry seemed to suggest that Meghan Markle is to blame for his constant attacks on the Royal Family, he appeared to reveal yesterday.
The Duke of Sussex told Shepard that Meghan “had the most amazing explanation... you don’t need to be a princess, you can create the life that will be better than any princess. And that’s coming from her own lived experience,” he said.
Harry suggested Meghan’s comments completely changed his mindset about royal life, putting him in a critical mode about the Royal Family.
The comments just two months after his bombshell interview with Oprah and his latest claims came out on the same day the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge carried out official engagements in Wolverhampton – which was said to have “usurped” the couple’s efforts.
A royal source told The Times: “It was such a lovely day for the Cambridges. It is a shame that it got usurped by what Harry had to say.
“Nobody is shocked any more. It is more: ‘Here we go again.’
