PRINCE Harry and wife Meghan will make an official tour of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific in October, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
The newlyweds will embark on their first major international visit with a four-country tour which will also take in Fiji and Tonga.
The tour will be built around the pair’s commitments to the Invictus Games sporting event in Sydney from October 20-27.
Confirming widespread speculation about the trip, Kensington Palace has confirmed the popular pair will undertake an autumn tour (spring in Australia) and that it would be an official visit.
It said further details of the trip by the pair, known officially as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, would be announced at a later date.
“Their Royal Highnesses have been invited to visit the Realms of Australia and New Zealand by the countries’ respective governments,’’ Kensington Palace said.

“The Duke and Duchess will visit the Commonwealth countries of Fiji and Tonga at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.’’
While Prince Harry has been to Australia several times and always draws a big crowd, the arrival of the glamorous Meghan on Australian shores is guaranteed to make the tour a blockbuster.
The pair were married at Windsor on May 19 in front of an estimated viewing audience of 1.9 billion, making it the most-viewed event in history, with the public fascinated by the love story between the ginger-haired British prince and the beautiful American actor.
They are believed to have just returned from their honeymoon and appeared alongside other members of the royal family on Saturday on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Trooping the Colour parade to mark the 92nd birthday of Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
Meghan will also embark on a tour of northwestern England on Thursday alongside the Queen, arriving on the royal train.
