PIERS Morgan has branded David and Victoria Beckham “shameless” for posting videos of their son Cruz on social media.
The 51-year-old went on the attack on Good Morning Britain, a day after former footballer David shared a clip of the 11-year-old singing the Cups song made famous by actress Anna Kendrick in the film Pitch Perfect.
While the 40-year-old captioned the video as “ridiculously cute”, Piers had the exact opposite reaction, reports The Sun.
He said: “I don’t think it’s very good, you get these celebrity parents and they bang on about protecting their kids and privacy and so on, and there they are Instagramming this 11-year-old to gazillions of people.
“Trying to make him a star like Brooklyn is now a photographer, and I’m like, can’t they just be kids? Really?”
Piers carried on his rant by saying the couple’s four children should wait until they leave school before making any decisions about what they want to do.
He said: “If they want to go into this kind of thing great, but this to me, it’s just shameless.”
His comments came during a showbiz segment, which started off debating whether Cruz could be the next Justin Bieber.
The Cups song was just the latest video to feature the youngster singing a cappella, after mum Victoria, 42, previously posted footage of her youngest son belting out Twista and Faith Evans’ 2005 hit Hope last week.
When Richard, 46, asked if this was a “necessary evil” the celebrity couple had to go through as part of their social media strategy, Piers couldn’t help but continue his rant.
He said: “I don’t think so, I have a four-and-a-half-year-old daughter and I would never dream of putting her online.
“We all go ‘aww isn’t that cute?’ but actually there’s an 11-year-old boy being put out there to the world and I’m not sure that’s particularly good for him.”
While the hosts debated the issue, David was clearly proud of his little boy’s singing abilities as he took on the song When I’m Gone using a tumbler and clapping for percussion.
He wrote: “Look at my little man go. Ridiculously cute and the enjoyment in his face whilst doing it just makes us smile.”
The clip has reportedly caught the attention of Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, who signed the Canadian singer when he was just 13.
A source within the music industry said: “The clip has been doing the rounds and has been seen by a lot of important people like Scooter.
“There’s no doubt Cruz has got talent and is in high demand right now.”
