It’s finally Oscars day!
Despite most award shows undergoing lacklustre COVID-19 themed makeovers over the past 12 months, it’s a case of the show must go on for the illustrious Academy Awards in Hollywood today.
In addition to the traditional Dolby Theatre venue, celebrities have hit the red carpet at the Union Station in Los Angeles as well as several other international locations.

But first – and arguably, foremost – we hit the red carpet:
Oscar-winner Halle Berry rocked a new ‘do at the event - a short choppy bob.
As the 54-year-old confidently sashayed in her purple gown, people rushed to Twitter to mock her haircut.

Australian actress Margot Robbie, not normally one to stray from her signature blonde locks, emerged on the red carpet with a fringe (!!!).
Robbie, who produced Best Picture contender Promising Young Woman, also sported a more natural blonde hair tone.
Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan served some serious dazzle in a billowing, radiant gold two-piece.
The itsy bitsy midriff top is daring, though counteracts beautifully with a Cinderella-style skirt.
Rocking a similar style is singer and actress Andra Day, in a risque cut-out gold number.
Amanda Seyfried is class personified every time she graces an awards show. This scarlet red, netted, mermaid-style masterpiece has to be one of her best fashion moments.
Zendaya is positively breathtaking in neon yellow.
British actress Vanessa Kirby, who starred in The Crown, is edgy in strapless pink.
Halle Berry has a very different new haircut, but it’s not enough to distract from the odd lump of fabric on the front of her gown.
Reese Witherspoon is ageless, but the casual belt against a designer gown is a real miss.
Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher posing from the Oscars red carpet in Sydney, Australia.
Regina King with the OTT sleeves.
US singer and Grammy award winner Tiara Thomas set the bar high early in a plunging white suit and matching feathered blazer.
It’s the diamond necklace for us, though.
Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova, who was in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, has paid homage to old Hollywood glamour with her Marilyn Monroe inspired ensemble.
The Oscars’ most nominated black actress Viola Davis, who is up for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, went for eye-popping white.
Laura Dern is librarian chic at the top, Swan Lake dancer at the bottom.
A white and gold theme is forming here, with the uber-talented, and uber-stylish, Leslie Odom Jr. in top-to-toe gold sheen.
Promising Young Woman director Emerald Fennell, who is up for three awards tonight, is ethereal in a flowy pastel gown perfectly draped over her baby bump.
Singer H.E.R is majestic.
Best Supporting Actress nominee Glenn Close giving evil wizard vibes.
British singer Celeste Waite - up for Best Original Song - is throwing Queen of Hearts energy.
Literally. Her clutch is a heart.
Minari leading ladies Youn Yuh-jung and Han Ye-ri.
Ariana DeBose – who you would recognise from Netflix’s The Prom – was one of the earlier arrivals.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’s Colman Domingo in a fuchsia pink suit with sequins is - no exaggeration - the best thing we’ve ever seen.
Best Supporting Actor nominee and industry veteran Paul Raci (Sound of Metal) and wife Liz Hanley Raci are happy to be here.
Minari director Lee Isaac Chung and wife Valerie Chung are the picture of marital bliss.
US actor Lil Rel Howery rocking a velvet blazer and grey suit.
Twelve-time Academy Award nominee, songwriter Diane Warren, sparkles in a sequin turtle neck and crisp white suit.
British-American director Martin Desmond Roe in butter yellow pants.
And with his wife, Chelsea.
