MODERN Family beauty Ariel Winter’s estranged mother has slammed the star for “flaunting her scars” after having breast reduction surgery.

Ariel, who plays geeky teen Alex Dunphy in the hit sitcom, went under the knife last June at the age of 18 to reduce her chest from 32F to 34D, reports The Sun.

Seven months later, Ariel posed on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards with her scars poking out from under her revealing black dress.

Now Crystal Workman, who Ariel won emancipation from in May 2015, has lashed out at her daughter for the “inappropriate” procedure.

She told Inside Edition: “I don’t think anyone at that age should be cutting into their breasts.

“I am surprised she did it so young and that the doctor did it for her so young.”

On Ariel’s red carpet appearance, she added: “I’m sorry, I just think this is inappropriate. She should never be embarrassed of her scars but she shouldn’t be flaunting them.”

Ariel previously said she “didn’t think twice” about showing her scars, saying: “It really astounded me when I was getting a lot of comments from people telling me to put my scars away and that they were gross. And I think that’s just so ridiculous considering they’re a part of me. They’re not going away.

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with them. And I think that that’s really messed up that a lot of people are saying that we can’t be beautiful with scars.”

Crystal also claimed she was being “bullied” by Ariel, who was telling falsehoods about her upbringing.

Ariel said in March that she was “pushed very hard” to succeed in showbiz.

She said: “I did have a really, really hard childhood. It wasn’t normal. It wasn’t what I should have had. It wasn’t a supportive, loving home. I had a really tough time.”

But Crystal hit back: “I didn’t start this battle. I haven’t seen her in three and a half years.

“I think Ariel is conjuring up stories to help her career at my expense and I feel as a parent I am being bullied.”

“She was begging me, ‘I want to be on TV.’ She would say ‘I can do better than your clients.’

“She has never been pushed into the industry. Ariel has wanted to be in the industry since she was five years old.”

She added: “I have stood by my innocence. I have never, never abused Ariel.

“I have been abused physically and I believe all of this is emotional abuse.

“Ariel should ask herself, ‘has Ariel ever raised her hand to her mother? Has Ariel ever done anything that she’s ashamed of to her mother?’”

A spokesman for Ariel said: “As we’ve stated previously, Ariel is happy and in a great place. We will not comment any further.”
