The Duchess of Cambridge has turned heads in a fashion forward outfit, as bombshell new claims about Meghan Markle have emerged.

Kate Middleton has dressed to impress in a $1000 belted dress while attending a royal engagement at London’s Design Museum.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, was among the leading figures in British fashion as she handed out an award on behalf of Queen Elizabeth at the event.

At the event, Kate wore an outfit by British-Canadian designer Edeline Lee, looking elegant as she viewed designs presented by the British Fashion Council Foundation.

The pebble-textured bottle green dress (which has a RRP of $981) featured a high, draped neck, with tie detail at the elbows and two gold buckles cinching the waist.

Kate completed her look with dangly gold earrings by jewelry designer Nadia Irena, which she wore during her Caribbean tour this year, as well as matching green heels ($420) and a clutch ($375) by one of her go-to brands, Emmy London.

Designer Saul Nash was the latest recipient of The Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.

The award was established five years ago to provide continuing recognition of the cultural and trade role the British fashion industry has played throughout the Queen’s reign.

The Duchess also met with representatives from the British Fashion Council and major fashion players, such as British Vogue editor in chief, Edward Enninful.

Meantime, a royal expert claimed Meghan Markle didn’t understand that Princess Diana had to “work like a dog” for more than a decade within the royal family before becoming a “superstar’.

Former editor of Vanity Fair editor turned royal author Tina Brown said the Duchess of Sussex forgot that “for 16 or 17 years Diana worked like a dog” within the royal family doing a “great deal of very humdrum assignments”.

“I think that was her fundamental sense of misunderstanding of what was going to happen when she joined the Royal Family,” Ms Brown told ITV show host Lorraine Kelly.

“She saw the palaces and Diana as this global humanitarian super star, but forgot that for 16 or 17 years Diana worked like a dog within the Royal Family doing a great deal of very humdrum assignments.

“She didn’t understand why things were set up in that way.

“Instead of being excited when thousands of people showed up at the Opera House, it was very much like, ‘What’s the purpose? I don’t understand this’.”

“It was her charisma she brought to the job that made her so extraordinarily special.”

Ms Brown’s comments come after the release of her latest book, The Palace Papers: Inside the Houe of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil.

In the book, she laid forth various claims including that Meghan “hated every second” of her 2018 Australian tour with Prince Harry and that the Sussexes underestimated life outside the royal family.

According to the expert a Palace worker said: “So, Meghan must have been thrilled with it all … right? No. She apparently hated every second of it.
