Mariah Carey dons racy leather ensemble to meet head of UN
SHE was at an event honouring the head of the United Nations — but you didn’t think Mariah Carey would tone down her dress sense, did you?
MARIAH Carey didn’t tone down her diva-like dress sense one bit for an exclusive event held in honour of United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Los Angeles this week.
Carey was among the stars to attend the private bash, held at movie mogul Brett Ratner’s LA estate Hilhaven Lodge on Wednesday.
But while others, including rocker Courtney Love and actress Dakota Johnson, dressed in modest attire to meet the 72-year-old South Korean statesman, Carey went hell for leather — literally.
The pop diva arrived at the event in a skin-tight leather bikie ensemble, the jacket unzipped to show off a lacy bra. She teamed the two-piece with sky-high black stiletto heels.
And it seems Carey may have enjoyed a drink or two on the way there, employing a wonderfully euphemistic use of the word “festive” when chatting to reporters on arrival.
“Hilhaven ... [is] the party capital of the world, so the United Nations should be here,” Carey told the New York Post. “OK, I’m sorry. I’m a little festive,” she added.
We have to wait until December to see Carey’s much-hyped docuseries, Mariah’s World, on screens — but the first trailer debuted a few days ago and we collated the five craziest moments from it. Mariah also gave one lucky reporter a guided tour of the superyacht she calls home with billionaire beau James Packer.
