Lena Dunham inspires with exercise selfie

IT’S not unusual for a celeb to post a workout selfie — but not all of them are as inspiring as Lena Dunham’s.

IT’S not unusual for a celeb to post a workout selfie — but not all of them are as inspiring as Lena Dunham’s.

The Girls star posted a pic of herself on Instagram looking sweaty in her gym gear in an attempt to get other people suffering from mental illness active as well.

“Promised myself I would not let exercise be the first thing to go by the wayside when I got busy with Girls Season 5 and here is why ...” she captioned the pic.

“It has helped with my anxiety in ways I never dreamed possible. To those struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression: I know it’s mad annoying when people tell you to exercise, and it took me about 16 medicated years to listen.

“I’m glad I did. It ain’t about the ass, it’s about the brain.”

She then thanked celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson for getting her fitness routine on track.

Lena’s been candid about her mental health issues in the past — admitting she developed obsessive compulsive disorder when she was five.
