King Charles to give final goodbye at Queen Elizabeth II’s private burial
After the world switches off their TVs, there will be a private burial for the Queen - with one royal marking the final goodbye.

It is expected King Charles III and his siblings will be the final four people to say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle.
It has been confirmed the monarch will scatter soil on his mother’s coffin – just as she did for her father – at a final private burial service with close family at 7.30pm Monday, local time (4.30am AEST).
Her Majesty will be buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, alongside her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April last year.

King Charles is expected to be joined by Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward as the final four people to say goodbye, given the siblings unity at events since their mother’s death.
Earlier in the day, mourners across the world will watch a televised state funeral at Westminster Abbey, London. It is expected to end at noon (9pm AEST), marked by a lament played by the Queen’s piper.
The Queen’s coffin will then travel in procession to Wellington Arch and from there will travel to Windsor by road.
The state hearse will travel in procession to St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle via the Long Walk and a committal service will then take place at 4pm (1am AEST).
The Imperial State Crown, orb and sceptre will be removed from the coffin in the final moments.
The coffin will then be lowered into the royal vault, a tradition at royal funerals and just as the Duke of Edinburgh’s was in front of millions of viewers last year.
The Queen’s final goodbye to her husband of 73 years was a handwritten note placed on his coffin, which was seen to say, in part: “I love you”.
Prince Philip’s body has been held in the royal vault to be buried with Queen Elizabeth’s.
King George VI Memorial Chapel, where they will be buried, is a small chapel within the grounds of St George’s Chapel and close to the royal vault.
The Queen’s parents, George VI and the Queen Mother, and sister, Princess Margaret are also buried there.
St George’s Chapel was founded in 1475 by King Edward III and it is where The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, got married in 2018.
