Katie Price tried to abort her son three times

THE model and reality TV star shocked a talk show panel when she admitted she had repeatedly tried to abort her eldest child.

Price made the startling admission on TV panel show Loose Women.

KATIE Price has revealed she went for an abortion three times when she was pregnant with her eldest son Harvey.

The reality star admitted she struggled with the decision and ultimately decided to continue with the pregnancy, when she was 23.

Harvey, 13, whose father is footballer Dwight Yorke, was born blind and with a rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi syndrome.

Speaking on UK chat show Loose Women, Katie opened up about going for an abortion three times but not being able to go through with it.

She said: “I didn’t actually go through with it. I was sat there with the cloak on, you’re there with all the women who are there to do the same thing.

“I went three times to abort him but in the end I just couldn’t do it.

“I thought I’m young, I wasn’t with the guy anymore. I didn’t know what was going to happen with my career, but then I thought stuff it, I’m earning money. I’m going to take a risk and do it.

“I’m glad I did.”

Opening up about her experience, Katie explained what it was like in the abortion clinic.

“They gave me counselling each time I went there and they talk about why you want it [the termination.] But I carried on having him.

“They scan you and you hear a heartbeat. Some women are pressured by the men. There’s so many reasons why they do it.”

When asked if she’s had an abortion, she admitted she previously “had a termination” and she’s “not proud of it”.

Katie Price said she’d had “a couple” of abortions.

She added: “I’ve had a couple, I’m just so bloody fertile as you can tell.

“I think six/eight weeks is OK but anymore than that isn’t.”

Katie is mum to Harvey 13, Junior, 10, Princess, eight, Jett, two and one-year-old Bunny.

During the discussion, Coleen, 51, also opened up about her abortion when she was a teenager.

She said: “I had an abortion when I was just 16. I didn’t have two doctors and I didn’t have counselling. At the time there was no talking me out of it.”

Katie, 37, previously caused controversy when she said she would have had an abortion if she’d known he would be disabled.

She said: “I was young when I had Harvey and I admit it: If I’d have known he was blind when I had him, as harsh as it sounds, I probably would have aborted him.”

She later went on to say her comments were taken out of context and she’s “so proud” of her son.

She said: “Now it’s like oh my god, no way. Now if they said I was going to have a child with disabilities, I would definitely keep it. I would even adopt a child with disabilities.

“Until you are in that situation, you don’t know.”
