Kanye West has officially changed his name to ‘Ye’

Say goodbye to Kanye West because the controversial rapper has officially changed his name, with leaked court documents confirming it.

Kanye West has officially changed his name, with a judge signing off on the rapper’s petition to be known by one word – “Ye”.

TMZ reports that West – whose full birth name was Kanye Omari West – won’t have a middle or surname he will simply known by his nickname, Ye.

The judge’s approval came two months after TMZ first reported that West, now Ye, had filed legal documents in a Los Angeles court.

His name change is the latest move from the controversial rapper, who fuelled speculation he is reconciling with ex-wife Kim Kardashian West, though the former couple’s divorce is still underway.

Sources have previously confirmed Kardashian West will keep her ex-husband’s surname – and continues to use it on Instagram and in her businesses.

Last week, TMZ reported that Kardashian West will receive the $60 million Hidden Hills home where she and the couple’s four children live.

The gossip site reports told the former couple negotiated a buyout price for the Axel Vervoordt-designed home that they rebuilt after purchasing it for $20 million in 2014.

Kardashian West filed for divorce in February, after six years of marriage.

Ye, who has been based in Wyoming for more than a year, has listed his estate there for $11 million, TMZ reports. It came after he recently purchased a new home in Malibu, for a reported $57 million.

The latest development in Kimye’s divorce came after Kardashian West’s Saturday Night Live debut, in which she gave her ex and famous family a savage spray.

“I married the best rapper of all-time,” Kardashian said, on the set of the iconic New York sketch show.

“Not only that, he’s the richest black man in America – a talented legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.

Addressing the former couple’s split, Kardashian joked: “So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing – his personality.”
