Police told news.com.au that they attended a property at Wolseley Road, Point Piper, on Sydney’s eastern beaches, in the early hours of February 9 after reports of a domestic argument involving a 52-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman.

Police filed an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against Stevens with Waverley Local Court. Mr Murphy said it was “normal procedure”.

The AVO, which was continued on Thursday, means Stevens cannot contact Meares for 28 days.

Earlier on Thursday, Meares’ lawyer Chris Murphy released a statement about the couple’s relationship.

“I am instructed by my client that there is absolutely no history of violence in the relationship between (Meares and Stevens),” he said.

It’s been a tumultuous year for Meares who was charged with high range drink driving after her Range Rover hit a row of parked cars, causing it to flip onto its side in June 2014.

She miraculously escaped without injury but was fined $1100 and banned from driving for a year after pleading guilty in Waverley Court, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The ex-wife of billionaire James Packer claimed in court she had “been haunted” by their two year marriage and subsequent divorce.
