GUY Pearce is expecting a child with his Game of Thrones girlfriend Carice van Houten.

The actress’ rep confirmed the news in a statement this weekend.

“Carice and Guy are thrilled to be expecting their first child,” the statement read.

The 39-year-old, who plays Melisandre on GoT, also took to social media to confirm the news.

“Yes. It’s true. Let the shadow baby jokes begin,” van Houten wrote on Instagram alongside a split-screen photo of her and Pearce. She included a baby emoji in the caption.

“Ok. I’m ready for your shadow baby jokes,” she added on Twitter.

The joke is a nod to her GoT character’s bizarre childbirth scene in season two, which saw her give birth to a shadow.

While the romance between the 48-year-old Aussie actor and the 39-year-old GoT star hasn’t been officially confirmed, they’ve been spotted together on several occasions over recent months.

Pearce split from his wife of 18 years, Kate Mestitz, in October.

“Kate and I will always love and support one another and be the best of friends,” Pearce said in the statement at the time.

The former couple do not share any kids, with Pearce saying several times over the years that this was a conscious decision.

“We both know kids aren’t for us. She’s never wanted kids and I’ve never wanted kids,” he told the Herald-Sun in 2012.
