OSCAR-winning British actor Eddie Redmayne is going to be a dad for the first time, according to The Sun.

He and wife Hannah Bagshawe, both 33, have told friends and family they are expecting.

The couple, who married a year ago, are now househunting for their first family home. A pal said: “Eddie and Hannah are delighted and extremely excited.

“They don’t want to find out the sex of the baby but are happy to tell close friends and family they’re expecting.

“It’s been a year to remember for Eddie after getting married, winning an Oscar and now becoming a dad.”

He won Best Actor for his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

He was seen heading back to the UK for Christmas yesterday, holding his publicist wife’s luggage at Los Angeles International Airport.

The baby is due next June, meaning Hannah will be visibly pregnant should she join her husband on the Oscars red carpet in February.

A spokeswoman for Eddie refused to comment when approached by The Sun.
