And this week, Kim Kardashian’s been accused of wearing one. But what about the proof? Well, a bunch of media outlets have the receipts. And by receipts, we mean full-blown galleries dedicated to the alleged pad.

Of all things to be accused of, this is perhaps one of the most mortifying.

Kim was snapped leaving sister Khloe’s birthday party this week in LA, which isn’t all that unusual. But in the paparazzi photos, as Kim walks away, there looks to be an outline of some kind of cushioning underneath her tight skirt. That’s when Kim started getting slapped with accusations like it was the 1692 Salem butt pad trials all over again.

But to us, on closer inspection, it looks like an unfortunate VPL situation. The elastic from her underwear made an indentation in her infamous cheeks, the camera flash has made it seem more prominent than it was IRL and with those powers combined a butt pad was born.

While it’s not quite in the same category as the blue-and-black-or-white-and-gold dress, it’s an optical illusion nonetheless.

Either way, it’s not ideal.
