Busted: The worst celebrity Instagram offenders
THEY’RE the supposedly candid and unposed snaps celebs share with us on Instagram that make us wonder: ‘Who on earth took this photo’? We name and shame the worst offenders.

THEY’RE the supposedly candid, intimate unposed snaps celebs share with us on Instagram that always make us wonder: Who on earth took that photo?
From celeb couples cuddling up to stars caught off guard or sleeping, our Instagram feeds are filled with pictures of the rich and famous vying to show us their most supposedly unguarded moments. Call us cynical, but sometimes we’re just not so convinced.
While Instagram currently shuts down accounts if they violate rules about nudity and obscenity, we’d like to see them extend their powers. We need a ‘Supposedly candid and unposed celeb selfie which is clearly the result of maximum effort and preparation’ reporting button.
Here are the worst Aussie offenders:
Ricki-Lee
“Sunday morning cuddles on the couch,” Ricki-Lee captioned this pic of her snuggling up with fiance Richard Harrison. Such a sweet, intimate pic ... but who on earth is behind the camera?
Nick Bracks
The model, underwear designer and son of former Victorian premier Steve Bracks is a repeat offender on Instagram. His crime? Posting pictures of himself ‘asleep’ after a long day’s work. Followers repeatedly ask “WHO IS TAKING THESE PHOTOS?”, to no avail. Nick, if you’re reading, please solve the mystery once and for all. Do you have an assistant hovering in wait until you nod off each day?
Lara Bingle and Sam Worthington
The loved-up couple sparked rumours of a split in September when Lara deleted all pics of her beau from Instagram, explaining that he’d gone cold on social media. Before that, though, their respective Instagram accounts were a veritable smorgasbord of snuggly, smoochy snaps that only served to make you feel sorry for the poor third wheel behind the camera.
Kris Smith
“Busted trying out lip gloss ha ha,” the model and Daily Edition co-anchor captioned this pic, handily ignoring the fact that he no doubt set the photo up, asked someone to take it, and posted it to Instagram himself. Nice try, Smith.
Nicole Trunfio
The model announced her pregnancy a couple of weeks back with this intimate snap of partner Gary Clark Jnr cradling her baby bump. Imagine being the friend who gets the call to come over and take that picture: “Hey babes, want to swing by and take photos of me and the boyf in our undies, gently cradling the fruit of our union?” Friend: “Ohhhh I’m...busy”
Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich
Tim Robards, aka The Bachelor Australia DOESN’T Hate, frequently posts intimate pics with his Bachelorette Anna Heinrich. This one in particular caught our eye, because of the robustly gymnastic pose but also because of the poor sod behind the camera having to watch them get all acrobatic n’ stuff in bed, all for the sake of a good Insta-post.
Jennifer Hawkins
Imagine being Jennifer Hawkins’ personal assistant: Duties include handling press inquiries, attending to Ms Hawkins’ day to day needs, and capturing the perfect crotch shot for Instagram.
Sophie Monk
We’d accuse Sophie Monk of having Nick Bracks Disease — chronic narcolepsy coupled with an intense desire to document said sleep disorder — if it weren’t for that telltale arm, extending out of shot towards the camera. Sophie, there’s only one thing worse than making people take pictures of you sleep: pretending to be asleep while taking selfies.
Jason Dundas
Dundas is a prolific Instagrammer and, given most pics prominently feature his washboard abs, we’re usually not ones to complain. However, occasional shots make us want to scream at him to PUT THE CAMERA AWAY. Getting fake-tanned in his undies is one example, while attempting a selfie while riding a bicycle with no hands just seems like the beginning of a YouTube video titled ‘Bone-Crushing Bike Fails Volume 12’.
