IT was called the most rebellious thing Bindi Irwin has ever done, but now she’s taken to Twitter to deny it. We can’t make up our minds.

Jetting into Brisbane after Wednesday night’s AACTA Awards, the DWTS winner started happily chatting away to reporters at the airport.

But no one was listening to Bindi’s recount of her “wonderful evening” celebrating the television and film industry here in Australia. Instead, all eyes were on the squeaky clean 17-year-old’s tongue, which looked suspiciously like it had been pierced.

Gossip sites were quick to point out the ball-shaped bling that was sitting on her tongue, but Bindi assured fans it was nothing but a mint.

News.com.au spoke to the wildlife warrior on the AACTAs red carpet on Wednesday evening in Sydney, but there was no sign of said tongue piercing.

So either she’s ducked off to get the piece of metal in her mouth before returning home to Brissy, or she was sporting a clear stud when she arrived at The Star with her boyfriend Chandler Powell.

Either way, if she has gone under the gun, we’re digging the rebel move and counting down the days until she starts doing a Miley and snapchatting that tongue of hers while wearing a nude leotard.

Maybe not. After all, this is the girl who once rang her mother to apologise for drinking a mocha at a festival. She doesn’t even have her ears pierced.
