ARIANA Grande has dyed her hair “white” and says an unlikely film character was her style inspiration.
Grande, famous for her long locks and high pony debuted a new platinum look on Instagram and told Nova’s Smallzy’s Surgery that a Harry Potter character was behind her look.
“It’s white actually,” she said when asked about her blonde locks. “It’s hard to tell because of the black and white filter, but it’s white. Like super white. But you’ll see it in the video and stuff, you can see how, it looks like Lucius Malfoy, he was sort of my … go to reference”
The image was the artwork for her new single Focus, which is being released on October 30.
“It definitely is like a different version to it (Problem),” she said of her previous single. “It has definitely evolved and is like Problem on steroids. it has the funky beats and like the horns in it too [so] lots of similarities.”
Grande revealed last year that she wears her hair in a high pony because it is so damaged from constantly dying it during her days as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon.
“I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat … as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair,” she wrote, defending her hair on Instagram in January 2014.
“My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions, but I wear it in a ponytail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down. Trust me, it’s … difficult for me to have to wait forever for my natural hair to grow back and to have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined.”
