Princess Anne’s wedding fury at Prince Harry over marriage to Meghan as royals score Emmy nod

Princess Anne reportedly told Prince Harry not to marry Meghan Markle as Oprah Winfrey’s bombshell interview with the Sussexes is nominated for an Emmy.

Princess Anne reportedly told Prince Harry “not to marry” Meghan Markle over concerns that she would not adapt to royal life.

According to a royal expert, Princess Anne’s negativity around Meghan led to the ongoing war between Prince Harry and the royal family.

According to royal expert and commentator Lady Colin Campbell, there were tensions about Meghan’s arrival almost from day one – with Anne among the first to speak out.

“Princess Anne was the champion in terms of ‘Don’t marry that girl, she is unsuitable’,” Lady Campbell said in a YouTube chat from April that has just come to light.

“She is wrong for us, she is wrong for the country, she is wrong for the job,’” Princess Anne told Prince Harry, according to the royal expert.

Lady Campbell also alleged that Princess Anne - the Queen’s second child and only daughter - thought Meghan was “flagrantly attention-seeking”.

She added: “It just absolutely turned Princess Anne off because she couldn’t stand Meghan’s constant ‘uh, uh, me, me me, me’.”

The Mirror reported at the time that Lady Campbell made the claims in a 38-minute long video on YouTube.

In April, it was also reported that Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, didn’t acknowledge Harry while at Prince Philip’s funeral.

It comes as the Sussexes bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey was nominated for an Emmy.

It was revealed that Oprah With Meghan And Harry was up for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special at the 73rd annual Emmy Awards.

The explosive special, which marked Prince Harry and Meghan’s first interview since leaving the royal family, was seen by over 49.1 million viewers worldwide when it debuted in March. During the sit-down, the couple detailed the ins and outs of key moments in their marriage, as well as their decision to step back as senior royals and why they moved to the US.
