ANNE Hathaway has struggled her way through the premiere of her new film Colossal in an awkward gown that looked to be on the verge of swallowing her whole.
The 34-year-old actress chose a black backless Armani gown for the red carpet of the science-fiction comedy film, but obviously didn’t do a trial run of her outfit at home.
The elaborate tulle panelling at the collar created a kind of bizarre in-built modesty fan, which had the effect of uncomfortably hiding half of Hathaway’s face.
Proving she’s a real battler, The Devil Wears Prada star attempted to smile over the top of the domineering dress, inadvertently adding to the awkwardness of the whole situation.
Unsurprisingly, Hathaway took the first opportunity to ditch the impractical ensemble, swapping it for a more manageable sleeveless red dress for the afterparty.
