HOLLYWOOD veteran Susan Sarandon has hit back at “cleavage shaming” comments on Twitter.

She came under fire after she wore a daring outfit to the Screen Actors Guild Awards last weekend, where the 69-year-old was nominated for her role in The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.

The pants suit combo with the plunging neckline sent Twitter into a frenzy and now Sarandon has used the same social media platform to defend her outfit choice.

She posted a throwback picture of her in a bra and said the tweet was dedicated to British columnist Piers Morgan, who dubbed the outfit as “inappropriate”.

She wore it while presenting the In Memoriam segment, which honours people in the industry who have died.

Morgan tweeted a picture of the outfit with the comment “Would Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No. It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute”.

Many women have now jumped on Sarandon’s bandwagon and Morgan’s Twitter is being flooded with pictures of women’s cleavage.

He has tweeted in response “I must be punished. Please don’t stop them.”

Even model Nikki Leigh exposed her cleavage to Morgan, who wasn’t complaining.

“My torment continues,” he said tongue-in-cheek.

On Sarandon’s original tweet to Morgan, fans have commented, showing their support and calling her a queen and an inspiration.
