The style brief is “show Ben Affleck what he’s missing” for newly-single Jennifer Lopez’s first red carpet after announcing her divorce.

Jennifer Lopez has walked her first red carpet since announcing her divorce from Ben Affleck – and she made sure to show her ex exactly what he’s missing.

Lopez, 55, walked the red carpet solo at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday for the premiere of her new film Unstoppable.

And she wore an eye-catching metallic dress by designer Tamara Ralph for the occasion – well, not so much a dress, more two pieces of fabric held together with several bows.

J Lo shared photos of herself on the red carpet, alongside some behind-the-scenes shots, on Instagram along with the simple caption: “Unstoppable.”

The star made sure snappers caught a good look at the most revealing elements of the unusual dress, posing side-on to show off the skin-baring outfit.

The outing marked J Lo’s first red carpet appearance since confirming she and Affleck were getting divorced.

While he served as producer for the new film, he wasn’t in attendance.

It’s been a dramatic few weeks for the Ben and J Lo saga, a love story that started with a high profile romance way back in 2002 and initially ended on the eve of their planned wedding two years later.

After both remarrying and having children with their new partners, the pair rekindled their romance in 2021 and finally married a year later.

By the start of this year, their relationship had formed the inspiration for Lopez’s latest ambitious career project: A new album and musical film called This Is Me … Now, both accompanied by a feature-length documentary that showed Lopez mining her rekindled love with Affleck for song lyrics and story ideas.

Affleck was shown in the documentary voicing his discomfort at their relationship being displayed so publicly once more.

Those various projects were released in February this year: By late April, divorce filing documents would later reveal, the pair had gone their separate ways.

There was a sting in the tail of eventual J Lo’s divorce filing, too: Despite being separated at that point for four months, she filed the papers on August 20, the same date as the couple’s lavish second wedding ceremony in 2022 (they first wed at a smaller ceremony in Las Vegas a month earlier).

With no pre-nuptial agreement in place, there is now speculation about just how messy this divorce between two very rich, very powerful Hollywood players could get.

A new report in People this week quotes a source who says the split “has the potential to get ugly,” with “some sticking points over financials.”

While Oscar-winning actor and director Affleck reportedly has a net worth of over $US150 million, Lopez is understood to be worth more than double that amount.
