Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson have emerged as the darlings of Cannes as the co-stars’ go viral for their wholesome encounters.
In a late 2000s’ pop culture crossover we never knew we needed, the Hunger Games leading lady and Twilight actor have graced the iconic film festival on the French Riviera to premiere their new thriller, Die, My Love.
The pair have become prime internet fodder thanks to their exploding “chemistry” amid their flurry of press opportunities, with fans dubbing them “Award season’s new favourite duo”.
Lawrence, 34, walked the Palais des Festivals red carpet in an exquisite white strapless ballgown at the weekend arm-in-arm with Pattinson, 39.
At one point, Pattinson helped his co-star fan out her lengthy train, the pair giggling and chatting to one another as they posed for the swarm of photographers.
Inside the theatre as the pair enjoyed a standing ovation following the film premiere, Lawrence was caught on camera giving the finger to Pattinson, before they broke out in laughter and hugged each other.
In various interviews, Pattinson has won hearts with his adorable comments about Lawrence.
During their chat at the Cannes press conference, the pair both discussed how becoming parents had helped them creatively. Lawrence shares two young children with her husband Cooke Maroney, while Pattinson welcomed his first child with Suki Waterhouse in March last year.
“Having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration,” Pattinson said.
“You get energy?!” Lawrence asked her co-star.
Pattinson responded, laughing, “This question is impossible for a guy to answer correctly! What Jennifer said, I’m here just to support!”

Shortly after giving birth to the couple’s first child, Grace begins to exhibit strange behaviour as she slowly succumbs to post-partum depression and, ultimately, enters psychosis.
The film, based on the 2017 book by Ariana Harwicz and directed by Lynne Ramsay, is produced by Lawrence’s production company Excellent Cadaver.
