‘Slow down’: Dire warning amid King’s health scare

Queen Camilla has urged King Charles III to take a step back from official duties as concerns mount for the 75-year-old monarch.

Queen Camilla warned King Charles III to “slow down” as fears grow for the 75-year-old Monarch’s health.

While insisting publicly that her husband was “fine”, the Queen has privately urged His Majesty to step back from official duties ahead of surgery for an enlarged prostate.

It comes after 516 engagements including state visits to France, Germany and Kenya last year.

“The Queen has told him he needs to slow down a bit,” a royal source close to Her Majesty told The Sun.

King Charles cancelled official engagements and is resting at his Sandringham Estate ahead of the procedure for the “benign prostate enlargement”.

King Charles will undergo a “corrective procedure” and is expected to be discharged after one night at an undisclosed hospital this week, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

Queen Camilla kept a stiff upper lip during a visit to Swindon this week as she accepted cards and messages of support and from local wellwishers.

“[He’s] fine,” she said when quizzed on the King’s condition by resident Jessie Jackson.

Nicky Jackson, 48, told the UK’s Telegraph that Queen Camilla was “lovely” in responding to their concern for the King.

“We didn’t ask about Kate. We forgot about poor Kate,” Ms Jackson added.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, remains in the London Clinic Hospital after surgery for an undisclosed abdominal condition.

She is expected to remain under supervision until at least next week before being discharged to recuperate at home.

King Charles is said to be “very worried” about the Princess of Wales, according to His Majesty’s biographer Robert Hardman.

“He’ll be more worried than anyone other than Prince William about her. She’s fit, she’s young and she’s out of action for three months,” Mr Hardman told GB News.

“That’s a cause for concern, not alarm, but he’ll definitely be taking the view ‘For God’s sake don’t make her feel she’s got to come back to duties any sooner than she feels she needs to’.”
