Princess Diana and Meghan Markle would have clashed because the Duchess does things “her own way”, a royal expert has claimed.
Royal author Ingrid Seward said Prince William and Prince Harry’s late mother would not have liked the “powerful” Duchess of Sussex.
“No [Diana would not have liked Meghan],” she told The Sun.
“I think it would be very difficult for any mother-in-law to like Meghan because Meghan is a powerful woman and she likes her own way.
“Diana, a powerful woman, likes her own way.
“And mothers and sons, basically no one is ever good enough for their little boy.
“It’s the same with mothers and daughters, too.”
Prince William is understood to have had concerns about Meghan, with the heir to the throne reportedly creating “tension” when he question the speed of his younger brother and the former Suits star’s engagement.
A source said: “William told his brother they knew nothing about her background, her intentions, what she was really like.
“He just wanted to stress that becoming part of the Royal Family is a massive undertaking and the pressure and scrutiny is unrelenting. Was Meghan the right one?”
In response, Prince Harry “went mental”, a friend said.
“He accused his brother of trying to finish his romance before it had begun. The brothers’ relationship has not really recovered,” the friend said.
Other senior members of the family also voiced their “concerns” to Prince Harry, The Sun reports.
In his book Spare, the Duke said his older brother branded Ms Markle “rude” and “difficult” during a row.
