Prince Harry will make a solo trip to New York City next month, just weeks after his tour of Colombia with Meghan Markle.
The Duke of Sussex is set to attend a series of engagements related to his patronages and charity associations, coinciding with the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week.
During his stay, he will meet with representatives from African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst, according to his spokesman.
Harry will also be weaving in promotion for The Archewell Foundation, the philanthropic division of his and Meghan’s company, which they founded after leaving royal duties in 2020.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked upon a four-day visit of Colombia together earlier this month, and also toured Nigeria in May. However, Meghan is understood to be staying home with the couple’s two young children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, this time.
News of Harry’s NYC trip comes just one day after it was revealed that he is set to re-release his controversial memoir, Spare – forgoing the common practice of adding updates in what’s been seen as a bid to thaw frosty relations with his family.
The Duke of Sussex’s bombshell book, originally released in January 2023, included staggering details about he and Meghan’s private conflicts with his family, as well as issues stemming back to his childhood.
Publishing house Penguin has now announced it will be re-released as a paperback in two months’ time, which authors usually use as an opportunity to add extra chapters or details.
However, it’s been confirmed that Spare’s contents will be “unchanged”.
The decision could be in keeping with Harry’s recent policy of restraint when it comes to criticism of the royal family following all the drama of his and Meghan’s Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, their Netflix docu-series, and Spare.
The paperback version of the memoir will be released in October.
