Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seen trick-or-treating with their kids, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2

The royal couple joined their neighbours on Halloween, going trick-or-treating with their rarely-seen kids, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, in California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted celebrating Halloween with Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, in their hometown of Montecito, California, on Tuesday.

A nearby witness snapped a photo of the Sussex family of four popping around the neighbourhood to beg for lollies, reports Page Six.

Archie wore a spooky skeleton costume as he held onto his royal dad with one hand, and his pumpkin-shaped bucket to carry his sweets in the other.

Meanwhile, the former Suits star carried little Lilibet, who wore a big puffy pink costume of some sort for the occasion, on her hip.

While the two tots were in costume, Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, didn’t appear to be in costume. Both the red-headed royal and his wife were in jeans, T-shirts, sneakers and hats.

The couple are big fans of celebrating Halloween and Meghan famously gathered for the holiday with some of Harry’s royal family members back when they were just starting to date in 2016.

Meghan reflected on going to a Halloween bash with Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, just as the world was about to find out about their relationship in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, which premiered last December.

“[Harry] said, ‘Well, if it’s gonna come out tomorrow, let’s go and have fun tonight!’” Meghan recalled in the show. “We went to this Halloween party where we could be completely dressed up and no one would know.”

Meghan added that they wore costumes that would conceal their faces, with Harry opting for a bandana and goggles.

“You borrowed a great costume. And we were like, ‘Well, this might be our last shot to just go out and have fun in the world,’” Meghan said.

The pair even snapped a selfie with Eugenie and Brooksbank, who were also dressed in costume, to document their Halloween celebration.

And when they had kids, Harry and Meghan continued to celebrate Halloween.

In 2021, Meghan shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she dressed Archie in a dinosaur costume and Lilibet in a skunk costume as Flower from Bambi.

“The kids were just not into it at all,” Meghan laughed at the time, adding, “Archie was a dinosaur for maybe five minutes.”

But Halloween has also scarred Harry after he was ripped apart for dressing up as a Nazi soldier at a costume party in 2005.

“It was probably one of the biggest mistakes in my life. I felt so ashamed afterwards,” the prince wrote in his Spare memoir, which was released in January.

His father, Prince Charles, ordered Harry to educate himself by visiting Poland’s Nazi death camp Auschwitz, watching Schindler’s List and speaking to a rabbi and a Holocaust survivor.

“I could’ve just ignored it and probably made the same mistakes over and over again in my life, but I learned from that,” Harry wrote.

Harry also claimed in his book that Prince William and Kate Middleton encouraged him to go to the party dressed as a Nazi.

A rep for Harry and Meghan did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
