Meghan Markle has been seen at a popular American fast food restaurant while Prince Harry embarked on Invictus Games festivities solo.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, was spotted going into the drive-through of burger joint In-N-Out in Santa Barbara on Sunday, local time.

In paparazzi photos, the former actress was smiling as she put in an order from her black Range Rover, with an unidentified female in the passenger seat.

Meghan has remained in California over the past four days as Harry’s event kicked off in Dusseldorf, Germany, on September 9.

The Duke of Sussex has been given a rock star welcome in the city to host the games, which he founded for wounded and disabled military veterans in 2014, while Meghan has remained home to look after their two children Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

He’s been sighted greeting competitors at the athletics event, was in the crowd at the Powerlifting and the wheelchair rugby matches, and even got involved in the action after losing in a penalty soccer shootout on German TV.

Meghan is expected to jet into Dusseldorf on Monday night, local time, to join her husband for the latter few days of the tournament.

It comes after questions were raised when Meghan was expected to speak at the closing ceremony of the games on September 16, but her name was mysteriously removed from a media program on the event’s official website.

She was scheduled to host a segment alongside German TV presenter Hadnet Tesfai, the Times of London reported in August, but that information, according to German press, was deleted from the schedule, with only Tesfai listed as host.

The couple have been embroiled by swirling reports around the state of their marriage over the past few months, with the parents-of-two rumoured to have been taking a “break” after losing their lucrative Spotify deal.

Most recently, the couple was spotted in a box at Beyonce’s Los Angeles concert earlier this month, with commentators pointing out how Harry appeared “sour” while Meghan danced the night away.

Further, Meghan didn’t join Harry in London last week when he attended the WellChild Awards on Thursday, or for his unexpected visit to the late Queen’s resting place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on the Friday.

Meghan, who hasn’t been to London since the Queen’s funeral in September last year, had previously attended the WellChild event with her husband in 2018 and 2019.
