Meghan Markle has been brutally mocked on social media after releasing the first Netflix trailer for her new cooking show.

The Duchess of Sussex gave fans an insight into her show, With Love, Meghan, which airs on January 15 – and it features some of her with Hollywood pals.

There will be eight 33 minute episodes featuring a host of Meghan’s various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet elevated, food, The Sun reports.

Fellow Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, who played Dana Scott on the hit show, made an appearance in the trailer.

Producer, actress and comedian Mindy Kaling could even be seen saying this was “one of the most glamorous moments” of her life.

Critics have since taken to X to share their thoughts on the Duchess’ new venture – and most of the comments are unfavourable:

“This looks like the fakest thing I have ever seen in my life.”

“This wasn't even filmed in her own home, or her own garden. everything is so fake fake fake.”

“Meghan Markle hasn’t kept in touch with her own father and her husband’s family. She doesn’t have a social circle to boast about having a hosting experience. Why are you giving such person a cooking and hosting show?”

“All they wanted was some privacy, and a Netflix deal.”

“The Duchess of Flops strikes again.”

However, some fans are excited for the show to premiere on January 15:

“Her Lovers will watch and her haters will watch. Overall it’s going to be great for Meghan and Netflix. I’m so excited.”

“I am excited to see what Meghan Markle has in store for her new series! ‘With Love, Meghan’ sounds like it’ll offer her unique personal perspective.”

In the two-minute trailer, a montage of various clips showed Meghan walking through vegetable patches and fields.

She was also filmed browsing through florists hand selecting beautiful flowers for table arrangements, showing off her creative side.

The Duchess even tried her hand at beekeeping, fully suited up, as she collected honey.

In the exciting new trailer, Meghan shared: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.

“Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.

“I’m going to share some little tips and tricks. I see what colour I gravitate to, and everything goes from there. And how you incorporate these practices every day.

“This is about connecting with friends. I love that we’re doing this together for the first time. Making new friends. and just learning.

“We’re not in the pursuit of perfection. We’re in the pursuit of joy. I have to get it totally wrong, to get it totally right.”

The trailer showcased many “candid” moments, from Meghan accidentally squeezing some lemon juice in her eye, to knocking freshly baked goodies off a plate.

Prince Harry featured at the end of the video, embracing his wife in a warm hug.

The pair laughed as they sipped some mimosas.

The show description reads: “This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old.

“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.

“She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.

“Guests include Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, with additional acclaimed chefs and special friends.”

The series is reportedly being made to complement her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

However, there has been little update on it, nor is there a release date in sight.

In a setback in September last year, officials pointed out the wording of her brand is a common nickname for Santa Barbara in California.

Further hitches included Meghan and her team filling in the official forms incorrectly, and failing to send enough cash.

And their application wasn’t even signed.

It comes as Meghan released a cryptic video welcoming in 2025.

The mum-of-two publicly marked the New Year as a fresh beginning in her life - and even signified the coming year is going to be all about her, experts have said.

In her first personal social media post for several years yesterday (New Year’s Day), 43-year-old Meghan ran towards the sea on a large beach before slowing down to a walk to write “2025” in the sand with her finger.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun that the Duchess wants to start the new year off on a “strong note” - separately from Prince Harry and their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

“It’s nothing to do with her and the children or her and Harry - it’s just her,” she said. “I think it’s all about Meghan.”

Meghan’s choice of an all-white outfit in the video cemented the notion that 2025 is a new beginning for her, according to fashion expert Amber Graafland.

And it was no coincidence she wore a white dress in her new Instagram profile picture to further hammer this message home.

“When it comes to orchestrating her image, Meghan is the master,” Amber tells.

“Running barefoot and make-up free down a beach towards the sea, her outfit was carefully selected to communicate a clear and important message.

“By opting to wear head-to-toe white, she was conveying that she wants to leave the past firmly behind her and start again.

“White not only represents new beginnings - it symbolises purity, innocence and neutrality.”
